Happy Momentum Monday (on a Sunday)!
Hey hey,
Ever have one of those days where things go sideways before noon and your brain immediately goes:
“Welp… guess today’s a write-off.” 🙃
So you scroll, snack, avoid, procrastinate—and just ride the chaos wave straight into shut down-town.
Yeah… that REALLY doesn’t work. I mean it does, but you know…
This week, we’re talking about your new secret weapon:
The 10-Minute Reset. ⏱️
(aka: how to get your sh*t together… gently)
Why this works (for our ADHD brains 🧠)
Here’s the deal, our brains don’t only struggle with starting… we (obviously) struggle with re-starting.
The second momentum breaks (you get distracted, overwhelmed, or thrown off), it’s like trying to push-start a dead car uphill. Hard pass.
So instead, we default to:
- “I’ll just try again tomorrow”
- “I’ve already messed it up”
- “What’s the point now?”
👀 Sound familiar?
This is that all-or-nothing spiral creeping in again (hi, hello, rude) and it’s the exact thing that keeps us stuck.
The 10-minute reset works because it:
- Lowers the bar so much your brain can’t (or at least has a harder time) argue with it
- Creates a tiny win (momentum > motivation, always)
- Gives you a re-entry point instead of a full restart
We’re not “fixing” the whole day, we’re just interrupting the spiral.
What is a 10-Minute Reset?
It’s exactly what it sounds like:
You take 10 minutes to shift your state + do one small thing that gets you moving again.
Not everything.
Not perfectly.
Just… something.
Your Reset Formula 🔁
When you feel yourself slipping, do this:
1. Set a 10-minute timer
Non-negotiable. We are NOT raw-dogging time here.
2. Pick ONE tiny task
Think micro. Like:
- Open your laptop
- Reply to one email
- Put away 5 things
- Start a doc and title it
(If it feels too easy, good. That’s the point.)
3. Change your state
This is the magic sauce:
- Put on a hype song
- Splash cold water on your face
- Stand up and move your body
- Light a candle, open a window—whatever snaps you out of “blah”
- Change the clothes you’re wearing
4. Reset your “plan-ish” for the day
Not a full life overhaul. Just ask:
👉 “What’s one thing that would make today feel slightly less chaotic?”
That’s your next step.
Real talk for a sec…
You are not behind.
You didn’t “ruin the day.”
You just… lost momentum.
And momentum is something we can rebuild, pretty quickly.
In fact, one tiny action is usually all it takes to shift everything.
This Week’s Action Item ⚡
At some point this week (because it WILL happen), when you feel yourself slipping:
👉 Do ONE 10-minute reset.
That’s it.
Set the timer.
Do the tiny thing.
Interrupt the spiral.
No overthinking. No waiting until tomorrow. No dramatic life reboot.
Just… reset.
And I’d love to hear from you:
What’s your go-to “reset move”?
Music? Cleaning spree? Walking lap around the house like a little raccoon? 😅
Hit reply and tell me because I’m always looking for new ones.
Let’s keep building momentum (even when the day gets a little sticky).

And if your current reset strategy is just “hope tomorrow is better” 😅
Surely we can do better than that.
