Happy Momentum Monday (on a Sunday)!
Ok, so do you ever get that feeling like everything in your life needs to change right now, IMMEDIATELY?!
Like… you need a new job, new routine, new schedule, new brain, preferably all by Monday morning? 😅
Been there. Still visit often.
But the truth is that you don’t need a full-blown overhaul you just need a real good tweak or two.
WHY THIS WORKS FOR ADHD BRAINS:
When we feel overwhelmed or stuck, our brains want to do all the things… or nothing at all.
That “rip it up and start over” energy is a trap. It sounds productive, but it often leads to paralysis.
What happens is we try to change everything, everywhere, all at once and it’s too much, leading us to go back to our “old ways,” and then beat ourselves up about it!
Instead, tiny changes keep our nervous systems calm and give us data, not drama, and momentum, not freeze.
Reframe “fixing your life” to “experimenting with a new workflow.”
MICRO TWEAKS FROM THIS WEEK’S CALLS:
Try one of these ADHD-friendly shifts:
✅ Overwhelmed with tasks? → Try a 3-minute micro-task to get started. Don’t set out to deep clean the entire house, start with the kitchen sink and go from there.
✅ Can’t keep up with work notes? → Try immediate post-task note dumps or voice memos. Imperfect but damn near done!
✅ Impulse spending/snacking? → Set a soft rule like “weekday Amazon = wishlist only,” Or a budget of $50 per month. Bank it or spend it but stick to it.
✅ Losing steam in your routines? → Don’t scrap it. Make a “worst-day version” of your habit to see what you can do even when the wheels have fallen off.
✅ Caught in the “one more day” loop? → Either do it now or consciously let it go. Don’t leave it in limbo.
ACTION ITEM FOR THE WEEK:
What’s one area you’ve been thinking about overhauling lately?
Instead, pick one tweak.
Keep it small. Keep it simple. Keep it honest.
Call it an experiment and track how it feels. You’re not failing, you’re collecting data.
PSA: Perfect isn’t real. You’re not broken. You’re just overdue for a small shift that fits you better.
Momentum comes from movement, not from rebranding your whole damn life overnight. 😘
