November 9th 2025
Happy Momentum Monday (on a Sunday)!
Ok now that I’ve recovered from my “not adulty enough” moment of feels last week, let’s move forward.
Can we just pause for a second and acknowledge something wild?
We’ve got 54 days left in 2025.
And before your brain goes full “oh no, I’ve wasted the year” or spirals into a hyper-focused Google doc titled New Year, New Me (but for real this time), take a breath. Let your shoulders drop.
We’re not doing the “usual” overhauling of all the things.
Instead we’re going to look at choosing how you want to feel as you slide into the new year, not face-planting into January 1st with the grandiose plans of changing our entire lives.
It’s so tempting to want to make ALL the changes, right now, IMMEDIATELY IF NOT SOONER! But how many times have we tried that? And how many times has it backfired into overwhelm and slipping back into old (unwelcome) patterns? Yeah. me too. But that’s ok. We are here NOW and we can make changes, even if they seem impossible or scary.
Default Mode vs. Deliberate Mode
ADHD brains love novelty… and also kinda hate change. We also love planning, but also struggle with the doing of the plan. No shame, it just is what it is.
This means we often drift through the end of the year in default mode – reacting, dodging, pushing through – instead of deciding on purpose how we want this final stretch to feel, and then get to 2026 like holy shit, how did I get here?!
Let’s not do that this time. Let’s change up the same old same old and really ask “how do I want to feel,” and “what thoughts and actions are in alignment with those feelings.” It won’t be perfect, in fact it will be messy as hell and you might want to give up and go back to the comfort of “default mode”. Don’t. Do. It.
Your nervous system with always choose comfort and familiarity over discomfort and unfamiliarity, but you have the power to step in to actively rewire those well worn neuro pathways. And honestly, you’re the only one that can do that work. BUT, you don’t have to do it alone. Remember that.
Let’s ease in. Let’s look at the rest of the year on purpose. Let’s prep our energy, not just our calendars.
Why This Helps ADHD Brains:
-
Reflection is executive function work, so it often gets skipped, which means we don’t notice our patterns or our wins.
-
Clarity gives us direction, which our brains crave more than we realize (especially when motivation is MIA).
-
Planning ahead reduces decision fatigue, which is half the battle during the chaos of the holidays.
-
Naming your season helps stop the internal judgment for not being in a different one. (You’re not “behind” if you’re in a resting or repairing phase. You’re just in a different season.)
Mini Momentum Ritual: Your Year-End Power Move
Here’s how to start the next 54 days with clarity instead of chaos:
-
Reflect with kindness.
-
What did you survive this year?
-
What did you create, even if it’s unfinished?
-
What actually mattered?
-
-
Name your current season.
-
Are you building, maintaining, repairing, or pivoting?
-
Your goals should match your season, not Instagram’s idea of success.
-
-
Close + Park.
-
Choose 3 things to officially close out this year.
-
Choose 3 unfinished things to pause, not abandon, on purpose.
-
Pick 1 intention to carry through November and December.
-
-
Pre-load December ease.
-
Decide now: what gets your time, what won’t, and what’s “nice if it happens.” (It’s ok if this shifts, but just give your brain, and your nervous system a little blueprint).
-
One bare-minimum routine. One boundary. One act of self-compassion. That’s it.
-
This Week’s Action Step:
Pull out a notebook, a voice memo, or the notes app and ask yourself:
“What do I actually want these last 54 days to feel like?” and “How can my thoughts and actions support that feeling?”
Not “what should I be doing?”
Not “how do I catch up?”
Not “how do I fix everything before January?”
Just… what would feel good to finish, release, or begin?
Remember:
We’re not starting over (again), we’re continuing the story.
This isn’t a launch. It’s a landing.
We don’t need pressure. We need presence. Patience. Perseverance. Persistence.
And momentum always beats motivation.
Want to go one step further and actually IMPLEMENT what we’re talking about here?

One feeling you want more of as you finish out 2025,
-
and one thing you’re choosing to do on purpose to support that feeling.
I’ll send you my Ease Into 2026 PDF as a thank-you, it’s the exact worksheet we used in my year-end workshop to reflect, reset, and create clarity without the chaos.
Let’s make these next 54 days count, gently.
Catch you next Sunday,
Leah
P.S. If you’re thinking, “Okay, I don’t want to do 2026 on default mode…,” I’ve got you. My 1:1 coaching spots for the new year are starting to fill up, and I’d love to help you build the kind of rhythm and support system that actually works FOR your brain.
Not “new year new you,” just a year that feels more like your favorite you, with less chaos and more clarity.
