Happy Momentum Monday (on a Sunday)!
Hey hey!
Letâs talk about the seasonal shift thatâs creeping up on us like a raccoon at a picnic. Itâs almost fall. Which means soon youâll be reaching for a hoodie and instead pulling out a swimsuit .
And for some of us that moment is glorious, but for others (like me) that moment sucks!
The good news? Youâve got time.
The better news? Weâre gonna use it wisely-ish.
Why Swapping Now (Not Later) Actually Helps ADHD Brains
ADHD brains hate sudden transitions. Cold snap? Panic mode. Closet chaos? Shut down. Trying to do it all in one go? Cue the avoidance/overwhelm spiral.
So instead of waiting until youâre freezing your ass off in October, let’s treat this like a slow-mo season change. The kind that eases you into the cozy vibes instead of slamming you into sweater weather.
Think of this like seasonal preheating.
Why this helps ADHD brains:
-
Reduces future stress: Youâre prepping before the urgency hits. You can still wait for the urgency to do most of the planning/transitioning, but starting even just a week or two early can help squash some of that transition freak out.
-
Less decision fatigue: Fewer âWTF do I wear?!â mornings, which lead to fewer late mornings, which lead to less stress/anxiety and more calm cool and collected.
-
Boosts dopamine: Small wins (like finding your fave hoodie) = instant mood lift.
-
Creates transition rituals: Rituals help soothe the chaos of seasonal shifts.

What This Can Look Like (The Plan-Ishâą Version)
Donât think of it as “reorganize your whole damn life.”
Think of it like this:
1. The 15-Minute Closet Sweep
Pick ONE drawer. Or one bin. Or just the top of the laundry pile.
Pull out the obvious âsummerâs overâ stuff like shorts, tank tops, beachy bits and set them aside to store, donate, or evaluate later. No pressure to finish the whole closet. Just⊠start.
2. Find Your Cozy MVPs
What do you actually love to wear when itâs chilly?
Find those now, while you still have the energy. Bonus points if you wash them and make them easily grab-able.
3. The âHell Yes / Hell Noâ Pile
As you go, ask:
- Did I wear this over the summer?
- Do I like how I feel in it?
- Do I want to see this again next year?
You donât need a full declutter sesh, just plant the seed. Keep the “hell yes” pile close, and toss the “hell no” into a bag to donate.
This Weekâs Action Step:
Pick one tiny seasonal switch to start this week. Swap one drawer.
Pull out one fall jacket.
Light one September candle and declare it almost autumn.
This way you’re not plunging. You’re easing. You’re preheating. You’re ADHD-ing the f*ck out of seasonal prep and thatâs a win.
Letâs Chat:
Whatâs one small thing you can do to make your space or wardrobe feel more fall-ready before the chaos hits?
Hit reply and tell me! I LOVE hearing the weird little things that make you feel like a cozy genius.
More âFall Into Flowâ vibes coming next week. Until then,
wear the sweater. Light the candle. Donât wait for the frost.
You’ve got this.
