ADHD Seasons: Which Season Are You In?

March 23rd 2025

Hi Hi!

Happy Momentum Monday (on a Sunday)!

Welp, spring has sprung…ish. The sun’s hanging out a little longer, flowers are starting to pop, and everyone’s buzzing about “fresh starts” and “spring energy.”

But what if you’re still in winter mode? What if your brain is buffering, your to-do list is untouched, and you’re just trying to remember where your damn shoes are?

You are not behind.
You are not lazy
You’re just in your own season—and that’s exactly where you’re supposed to be.

Why this matters for ADHD brains:

We don’t run on the same clock as everyone else. Our energy, focus, and motivation ebb and flow (sometimes wildly) depending on the day, our hormones, our sleep, or just pure mystery vibes. So instead of shaming ourselves for not “blooming on time,” what if we paused and simply asked…

❓ What season am I actually in right now?

No wrong answers. Here are a few options:

🌨 Still Wintering?
You’re conserving energy. Maybe feeling slow, foggy, or tapped out. You need softness, rest, and no extra pressure.

🌱 Spring(ish)?
You’re stirring a little—curious, maybe doing a bit more, but still need training wheels. You’re waking up gently.

🌸 Full Bloom?
You’re ready for some action. You’ve got ideas or energy and just need a little structure to channel it. Let’s GO.

🌩️ Storm Season?
You’re overwhelmed, overstimulated, and bouncing between chaos and shut down. Deep breaths. This season counts too.

Why naming your season helps:

When we name where we are, we take the shame out of it. It becomes “This is what I need right now,” not “I should be doing more.”

That shift alone can create momentum. It gives you permission to support yourself instead of fight yourself.

⚡ Tiny ways to honor your season:

  • Still Wintering? Wear cozy socks. Drink warm drinks. Give yourself quiet.
  • Spring(ish)? Open a window. Make a playlist. Light a candle and tidy one corner.
  • Full Bloom? Set a 20-minute timer and tackle that thing you’ve been itching to start.
  • Storm Season? Micro-tasks + minimal input. Say no to extras. Choose ease over expectations.

💥 This Week’s Action Step:

Take 60 seconds and name your season—out loud, in your journal, in a voice memo, hit reply and send it to me, whatever feels real.

Then pick one tiny way to honor it.
Not to “fix” it. Just to meet yourself there, with love.

You’ve got this. And wherever you are? That’s where your momentum begins.
