Hey hey!
Happy Momentum Monday (on a Sunday)!
Ok so if you’re anything
You bought the groceries.
You had the planner.
You definitely had that important paper somewhere.
…and now?
Your spinach is rotting in the drawer, your to-do list is buried under 47 tabs, and whatever “super important thing” you were absolutely not going to forget has vanished into the abyss. 😅
Welcome to this week’s Momentum Monday:
Make It Obvious or It Doesn’t Exist 👀
Because for a lot of ADHD brains, if something is out of sight… it may as well not exist.
Not because we don’t care.
Not because we’re lazy.
But because our brains are juggling approximately 900 thoughts at once, and invisible things don’t stand a chance.
So this week, we’re talking about making your life more visible—aka setting yourself up so the important stuff actually stays in your orbit.
Why This Works for ADHD Brains 🧠
ADHD often comes with challenges around working memory and object permanence.
Translation?
If your meds are in a drawer… forgotten.
If your keys don’t have a home… chaos.
If the leftovers are hidden behind oat milk and 3 questionable condiments… congrats, you just wasted groceries again.
Our brains do better when we reduce the need to “remember” and instead create visual systems that do the remembering for us.
This isn’t about being more disciplined.
It’s about making the important shit easier to SEE.
The Goal: Reduce Friction + Increase Visibility
We are no longer relying on memory alone.
We are building external cues.
Think:
“Don’t make it harder than it has to be.”
4 Ways to Make Life More Obvious This Week:
1. Create Landing Zones
Give your most important daily items ONE consistent home.
Keys. Wallet. Purse. Meds. Water bottle.
If you’re constantly searching for the same stuff, the problem usually isn’t you—it’s the lack of a designated spot.
Pro tip: Put it where you naturally drop things already. Work with your habits, not against them.
2. Use Clear Containers
Out of sight = forgotten.
Clear bins in the fridge. Clear organizers. Open baskets.
If you can SEE it, you’re way more likely to use it.
(Yes, this applies to food, supplements, chargers, and that random pile of life admin.)
3. Put Reminders Where Your Eyes Already Go
Sticky notes on the bathroom mirror.
Medication by the coffee maker.
Gym shoes by the door.
Stop hiding reminders inside apps you ignore.
Make your environment do some of the heavy lifting.
4. Make Tasks Visible, Not Mental
Your brain is not a storage unit.
Get the task out of your head and into the real world:
- Whiteboard
- Sticky note
- Planner
- Phone widget
- Calendar alert
You do not need to “just remember better.”
You need fewer invisible responsibilities.
This Week’s Action Item ⚡
Pick ONE area of your life that constantly feels chaotic and ask:
“How can I make this more obvious?”
Maybe it’s:
- A key bowl
- A visual to-do list
- Prepped snacks at eye level
- Bills on a visible calendar
Small shifts = less chaos.
Remember: We’re not aiming for perfection here. We’re aiming for less “Where the hell did I put that?” energy.
